Juan Carlos Ferrero, who is starting a new professional stage with golfer Angel Ayora, admitted that he finds it hard to watch from a chair, on television, as Carlos Alcaraz, whom he has coached for seven years, competes in the Australian Open.
It's not easy what you feel
"It's hard to watch Carlos compete and your whole team sitting in the chair. It's not easy what you feel," Ferrero said in an interview with Ten Golf.
I needed a change of scenery. I received offers to stay in tennis, but the opportunity arose to work with Angel Ayora in a world that I know and like
"I'm very happy with his game, because he's winning and he hasn't lost a set yet. He's at a great level. Congratulations to him and keep it up," he said.

About his new project, Ferrero stressed that he needed "a change of scenery. I received offers to continue in tennis, in the ATP and WTA circuits but the opportunity arose to work with Angel in a world that I know and like," said Ferrero, who refused to compare Alcaraz with Angel Ayora.
Tennis is my life and it will continue to be so because I continue to work at my academy
"Angel is just starting out and Carlos has been around for several years. Alcaraz is more outgoing. They are different characters. Carlos is among the best and Angel can go very high," added Alcaraz's former coach.
"Tennis is my life and it will continue to be so because I continue to work in my academy," said Ferrero, who is facing his move to golf as "an experimental period."
