- NFL. FCC praised for decision on Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show lyrics
Travis Hunter has faced a storm of online scrutiny, yet the NFL star keeps his focus - as despite rumors about his wife Leanna Lenee, the Jacksonville Jaguars' rookie remains composed, choosing to prioritize family and football.
Hunter, a 2024 Heisman winner, became the center of viral gossip about his long-term relationship, with videos suggesting Lenee had interactions with other men while they were together, even as the pair had been dating for five years.
Despite the online chatter, Hunter married Lenee at The Barn at Faith Farms, showing his commitment and disregarding external commentary. The couple now has a child, and Hunter remains unshaken by social media speculation.
A recent viral clip shows a commentator roasting Hunter during a home vlog with Lenee, even joking that he might be "the first virgin to have a child."
Hunter, however, continues to act authentically, focusing on his life and career whilst on the field, Hunter's 2025 season was a mixed bag.
Offensively, he caught 28 passes for 298 yards and a touchdown across seven games, while defensively he tallied 15 tackles and three pass breakups, showing promise as a two-way player.
"He will play both sides again in 2026," NFL Network said. "The big change may come in the usage. From what I understand, they plan to play him as a full-time cornerback, a part-time receiver, which is a switch from last year when he played more than double of his snaps at receiver than cornerback."
Fallout from Hunter cornerback decision revealed
Meanwhile the Jaguars' offseason plans confirm Hunter Jr.'s defensive focus will shift, prioritizing cornerback while limiting offensive opportunities. This comes as the team strengthens a wide receiver corps already rich with talent.
Brian Thomas Jr. remains in place despite the addition of Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers. With Hunter Jr. taking a reduced role at receiver, trading Thomas Jr. would offer little benefit unless it addressed a more pressing roster need.
Jacksonville is unlikely to re-sign free agent cornerbacks Montaric Brown and Greg Newsome II. Brown's breakout year may price him out, while Newsome struggled in Anthony Campanile's system, leaving Hunter Jr., Jarrian Jones, and Jourdan Lewis as the team's core defensive backs.
With a clear defensive hierarchy, the Jaguars aim to add depth through late draft picks or budget-friendly free agents. Hunter's calm approach amid criticism and evolving role ensures he remains a key piece in Jacksonville's future, both on and off the field.
