Heading into the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs, all eyes will be on the teams who got byes for the first round. The Denver Broncos in the AFC and Seattle Seahawks in the NFC rightfully earned their week off, putting together extremely impressive regular season fueled by elite defenses.
Both No. 1 seeds will be taking on No. 6 seeds, as the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers took down their higher-seeded rivals in the Wild Card Round. The Bills did so by, once again, relying on reigning MVP Josh Allen carrying the offense. Despite Buffalo showing that they have plenty of flaws, they still have Allen. That fact alone appears to be frazzling the Broncos, including head coach Sean Payton.
Sean Payton gets snippy with reporter ahead of Bills-Broncos game
During a press conference this week, Payton snapped at a reporter who was asking a simple question about linebacker Dre Greenlaw's run defense ability.
That exchange came during the same press conference where Payton implored Broncos fans to make a lot of noise at the proper time: when Allen and the Bills are entering the huddle, instead of after. Clearly, Payton believes his team needs all the help it can get to beat the Bills.
Broncos fans are feeling similarly as their head coach, surprisingly. Despite being the No. 1 seed in the conference, some Denver fans are treating their team as the underdog.
The Bills could be without every starter, but as long as Allen is on the other side, any team will have some level of fear in their hearts.
