After putting on a great display, Justin Gaethje (26-5-0) has his mind set on challenging what many consider to be the most dominant fighter in the UFC, Islam Makhachev.

He made his intentions clear through his "X" profile, tagging the company's president, Dana White, in a message.

"I won 3 out of my last 4, only losing in an exhibition fight. I have to fight for the belt. @danawhite I am ready," Gaethje wrote.

The most striking part of his statement was his reference to a "exhibition fight," referring to his bout against Max Holloway at UFC 300, where he was knocked out in one of the most electrifying finishes in recent history.

Gaethje Wants to Challenge Islam Makhachev

The Dagestani fighter is regarded as "The King of the Lightweight Division" and has just completed his fourth title defense after defeating Renato Moicano at UFC 311.
