Yesterday UFC 313 was held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the main event came and Alex Pereira defended his championship against Magomed Ankalaev.

A fight that really disappointed many, as Alex and Magomed fell short, but that does not take away the victory from Ankalaev. It will mark the beginning of a new era in the 205-pound division

Many experts have given their opinion and the most prominent was Alex Pereira who did not really get into the octagon, in the end Magomed took the victory by unanimous decision with scores of 49-46, 48-47 and 48-47, very even within a certain point

Ankalaev defeats Alex Pereira by unanimous decision.

If the defeat wasn't enough, Alex had to deal with his ex

Merle Christine, Pereira's ex-girlfriend, took advantage of his fall to attack him from the stories on Instagram:

"We have a new light heavyweight champion. It's over Chama. Karma. He lost on International Women's Day. Maybe it's a sign, guys, I don't know. New light heavyweight champion, Ankalaev, congratulations. He did a very good job. If you guys are talking about robbery, you don't understand anything about MMA," said Merle in his video

"Let's not talk about robbery. That's complete bulls***. This guy won and actually got this title shot very late, right? So I think we should give him some props," he continued on his Instagram story

Alex did not remain silent

If Merle thought she was going to get away with it, she was very wrong, as Alex Pereira reacted to her comments and did so with great class, although with a very direct dart:

"I think you should stop mentioning my name because your husband might get jealous, chama," the UFC fighter said in a comment on a post.

Alex and Christine had a complicated breakup last year, with Pereira claiming on the Full Send MMA podcast that he broke up with her after discovering she was already married. Merle has denied those claims and they did not end on the best of terms.
