The Super Bowl LX will be remembered for many things, and most of them did not take place on the field. The main topic of conversation shifted from the Seattle Seahawks' victory to the aftermovie of the Bad Bunny's halftime show. Following his historic all-Spanish performance, President Donald Trump took to his social media accounts to insult the show, calling it "absolutely terrible" and an "affront to the greatness of America."

Trump specifically targeted the language barrier, stating, "Nobody understands a word this guy is saying." However, coming on to defend the artist appeared former NFL quarterback and Heisman winner Robert Griffin III, and he was not letting that slide. In a viral post on X, Griffin delivered a powerful counterargument that resonated widely across platforms.

"Puerto Rican culture is American culture"

Griffin addressed Trump's criticism by pivoting from the words spoken to the emotions felt. He challenged the idea that language should be a barrier to national pride, especially regarding a U.S. territory.

"Many people didn't understand a word Bad Bunny said during his Super Bowl halftime performance, but it was iconic because you could feel the love of people and culture. Puerto Rican culture is American Culture. Together we are America

For Griffin, the fact that the show was entirely in Spanish did not represent a threat to the American culture, on the contrary, it shows and represents perfectly how the really national culture was built: as a result of the combination of many others. As Bad Bunny said, "The only thing more powerful than hate is love."
