There's no doubt that A.J. Brown remains one of the best and most decisive receivers in the NFL. However, this season, it's become clear that his relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts and head coach Nick Sirianni is completely fractured. Perhaps the best move for the Eagles franchise would be for the former Titans receiver to move to another team.
Brown once again had a 1,000-yard season-specifically, 1,003 yards with seven touchdowns-but he still appears disengaged, and it seems he may be looking for new horizons. That said, it won't be easy. Howie Roseman, the team's general manager, emphasized: "It's hard to find great players in the NFL, and A.J. is a great player."
Roseman also spoke about Brown's leadership role as a team captain "He wears the 'C' for a reason. He's an important part of this team and this organization. He cares about winning, he cares about his teammates, and I think when you're a team like ours, competing for a championship, you don't just let players like this go."
A.J. Brown Starts Showing Interest in the New York Giants
It's clear that the New York Giants, direct rivals of the Eagles in the NFC East, will be one of the teams to watch in the 2026 season. Several factors contribute to this, but mainly it will be the second season of quarterback Jaxson Dart, who was simply impressive as a rookie.
Interestingly, A.J. Brown, still a member of the Eagles, recently started following Jaxson Dart on Instagram, as well as the Giants' star receiver Malik Nabers. This sparked social media rumors that Brown may want to join the fierce rival.
Such a move would be complicated, especially since Brown is under contract, and a trade of that magnitude with a division rival would be unusual. Still, it's clear that Brown no longer wants to stay with the Eagles, a franchise where he has surpassed 4,000 receiving yards over four seasons.
It's also a fact that the Giants will need receivers. It's still uncertain if Malik Nabers will be ready for Week 1 after his knee injury, and it's likely they could lose Wan'Dale Robinson in free agency. Robinson exceeded 1,000 receiving yards and is expected to seek a 4-year deal worth over $78 million, with the Titans and Jaguars reportedly leading the race.
