Selena Gomezrecently opened up about her long-standing friendship with Taylor Swift, revealing which songs were inspired by their bond, giving fans insight into a relationship that spans over a decade.

Their friendship began in 2008, when Gomez was leaving Disney behind and Swift was establishing herself as a rising star in country music before transitioning fully to pop. Over the years, they have supported each other through professional milestones, personal challenges, and the pressures of fame.

The pair frequently appear at award shows, performances, and high-profile events, demonstrating a visible camaraderie. Gomez has praised Swift for her generosity and loyalty, while Swift has described her friend as a trusted confidante who provides guidance and emotional support.

Beyond public appearances, their connection includes private gestures, such as exchanging messages during major career moments, sending thoughtful gifts, and celebrating important life events. Fans often notice playful social media posts that feel genuine rather than performative.

Despite demanding schedules, they make time to nurture their bond, often referencing each other in interviews and social media. This enduring relationship is rooted in trust, mutual admiration, and emotional support, making it one of Hollywood's most iconic friendships.

Selena revealed on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast that Swift's Evermore track Dorothea was inspired by moments they shared. Well, Dorothea's about me, one of her songs, Gomez said, describing pivotal teenage experiences that shaped their lives and friendship.

"Well, Dorothea's about me, one of her songs," Selena said, discussing Swift's discography. "And I feel like a lot of moments, huge moments that were self-defining, from relationships to family to love to hate, all of it in between, we were figuring it out because I was 15 and [Taylor] was 18.

"We didn't really know, like, what was going on, and so we've never seen each other any differently. So, when I listen to ['Dorothea'], I'm so I'm so impressed how it's eloquently put."
