Travis Kelce has just added a new unexpected title to his résumé. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is officially a parent to three giant river otters at the Philadelphia Zoo, generating the approval from his fans and most importantly, from his fiancée, Taylor Swift.

What began as a running joke on the New Heights podcast has blossomed into a real-life conservation effort, proving that even the NFL's most famous tight end still has a soft spot for the animal kingdom.

Travis Kelce goes multispecies

The news broke during the February 6 episode of the podcast Not Gonna Lie, hosted by Travis' sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce. In a segment about internet culture and doomscrolling, Kylie dropped a bombshell that left the Travis superstar speechless.

"As a special surprise from us here at NGL, we actually adopted a giant river otter at the Philadelphia Zoo in your name

The adoption was processed under Travis' cherished family nickname, "Uncle Trav." While the gesture started with one otter, the Philadelphia Zoo later confirmed via social media that the "Uncle Trav" legacy has expanded to a trio of giant river otters: They are named Yeyuno, Thor, and Matteo. Travis Kelce said this about it:

"First of all, big zoo guy. Uncle Trav, this is amazing. I just know they're the friendliest."

Taylor Swift's love for otters

While this recent Travis' love for otters might seem sudden to some, Taylor Swift has been involved in the otters' obsession for months. During a previous appearance on the New Heights podcast, the famous singer shared a hilarious glimpse into their private life, revealing that Travis spends his free time watching sea otter videos.

Swift clarified that Travis' intentions are not to domesticate a wild animal, as he dreams about a "Disney-style" encounter.

"He wants to see an otter, and the otter is, like, 'My paw is caught in a shell,' and he's, like, 'I got you,'. And then the otter is, like, 'thank you forever,' with its little paws. I want it too, honestly. I mean, who doesn't?"

In a year filled with album launches and football games, this adorable addition to the Kelce-Swift family might just be the most heartwarming update yet... until their wedding, obviously.
