It's not by happenstance that the Dallas Cowboys are dubbed "America's Team". Given the franchise's large contingent of fans in all corners of the nation, plus the franchise being considered the most valuable team in all of sports, it has earned the nickname.
Despite a lack of playoff success since the mid-90s, the name has stuck. Even in down seasons, it becomes clear why that is: More fans attend their games than any other franchise. That was the case once again in 2025.
Dallas Cowboys led NFL in home attendance by wide margin in 2025
Per Pro Football Reference, the Cowboys not only had the most attendants during this past regular season; it wasn't even close. The Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and both New York franchises rounded out the top five.
- Dallas Cowboys: 743,934
- Denver Broncos: 687,500
- Kansas City Chiefs: 661,146
- New York Jets: 660,246
- New York Giants: 638,295
Tehcnically, MetLife Stadium and Lambeau Field can seat more people than AT&T Stadium, yet the Green Bay Packers came in ninth place. The Cowboys have the advantage of a roof over their heads and more pleasant weather come winter time.
Chicago Bears come in last in home attendance for 2025, sparking Soldier Field discussion
On the other end of the spectrum, the Chicago Bears brought up the rear with the worst home attendance number. That isn't entirely surprising considering their home stadium, Soldier Field, has the smallest capacity in the whole league.
There's a project in place for the Chicago franchise to build a new, domed stadium in Arlington Heights, at the site of the former Arlington Park horse race track. As of now, there still hasn't been an agreement reached with the local government. It's uncertain what the capacity of the new stadium would be. With a dome, it would be easier to bring in fans for harsh weather games.
