- NFL. Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens bring no luck to Ilia Malinin, while the gymnast rules out following in his footsteps
Simone Biles may not be competing at the 2026 Winter Olympics, but the most decorated gymnast in history is still commanding attention in Milan.
Touching down in Italy earlier this week with her husband, Chicago Bears defensive back Jonathan Owens, Biles has been soaking up the Games from the stands while also making time to enjoy the city beyond the arenas.
Throughout the week, Biles has shared glimpses of Olympic competition on her social media, cheering on fellow Team USA athletes. Yet without the demands of training and performance, she has been free to experience the event from a different perspective. That freedom has included date nights, sightseeing and, most notably, a luxury shopping excursion that quickly caught fans' attention.
On Sunday, the couple visited Bottega Veneta, the Italian fashion house known for its signature woven leather designs. Biles later revealed a gift from Owens: a $4,500 woven purse that had been customized with gold letter charms spelling out her initials.
"Always spoiling me," Biles wrote, praising her husband.
She also shared her surprise at the custom detail, posting, "I never knew Bottega did this, might be a special Milan thing?! But how f***in cute?"
While the charm service may feel exclusive, the brand actually offers personalization at multiple locations for $125 per letter, making the Milan stop more stylish than rare. Still, the setting added a fitting backdrop to the couple's fashionable moment abroad.
Glamour meets a frightening moment
The weekend was not without its tension. Owens revealed on social media that the pair narrowly avoided a robbery while out in Milan.
"Not somebody just tried to snatch my shopping bag in Milan, force of habit i had it tied around my hand so he couldn't get it and took off running immediately....but still crazy," he wrote on X.
The attempted theft rattled the otherwise celebratory mood, though no injuries were reported. Owens' quick reflexes prevented the situation from escalating, allowing the couple to continue their Olympic visit safely.
Biles and Owens, who married in 2023, have frequently supported one another's careers, from NFL sidelines to global sporting events. Their presence at the Winter Olympics has added a touch of star power to the festivities, even as Biles transitions into life beyond active competition.
