Fans and experts of the NFL are watching with anticipation as they await the decision of free-agent running back Dalvin Cook about his next career move. Cook shed some light on his situation during a conversation on The Rich Eisen Show on Monday.
In his appearance on the show, Cook addressed the circulating rumors of offers from the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets. He clarified that contrary to the buzz, he hadn't received any offers from either of the teams.
Interestingly, Cook didn't dismiss the idea of joining the Buffalo Bills, a move that would unite him with his younger brother, James Cook, on the same team.
Dalvin Cook, a top running back with four Pro Bowl selections to his name, admitted that the idea of sharing a team with his brother was intriguing. However, he expressed concern about potentially overshadowing his brother's career, stating he doesn't want to be an obstacle in his brother's path. His brother, James, had an impressive rookie season after being chosen in the second round of the previous year's draft, clocking 507 rushing yards and scoring two touchdowns.
The Bills recently suffered a setback with their backup running back and return specialist, Nyheim Hines, sustaining a season-ending knee injury, as reported by Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN. This unfortunate event could potentially open up space in the Bills' roster for both the Cook brothers. Despite this opportunity, Dalvin Cook gave the impression that he's in no hurry to make a snap decision.
When Eisen inquired about a possible date by which Cook expects to sign with a team, Cook confessed to being uncertain. He shared, "I honestly don't know. Every day I've been having this discussion with my agent, Zac Hiller. We're constantly weighing our options, asking, 'What's the best possible situation? Should I sign now?' Pinning down the optimal course of action is tough at the moment, but I have faith that when the perfect opportunity does come along, I'll recognize it and jump on it immediately."
