What began as a college football scandal has taken a far more personal turn, after Paige Shiver shared new details that shift the focus from headlines to human impact.
In a candid and emotional interview with ABC News' Linsey Davis on Good Morning America, the former Michigan staffer revealed she became pregnant during her relationship with ex-head coach Sherrone Moore, a development that ultimately led to a painful decision shaped by medical advice.
Fighting back tears, Shiver explained that doctors urged her not to continue the pregnancy due to complications linked to Pompe disease, a rare genetic condition that can severely impact both mother and child.
"Multiple doctors and experts told me that it wouldn't be right or healthy for me to keep the baby," she said. When asked directly if she wanted to keep it, Shiver paused before responding, "Yeah."
According to Shiver, Moore was aware of the situation and supported her decision at the time. "He said, 'You have to do what's right for your body,'" she recalled.

Shiver recounted backing away as Moore approached, adding that he grabbed kitchen knives during the encounter. When asked if she feared for her life, she responded, "Oh my gosh, yes."
