A shocking aviation accident at New York's LaGuardia Airport has revealed an extraordinary survival story, as Solange Tremblay continues her recovery after being thrown from a plane during a devastating crash.

The 26 year veteran flight attendant was aboard a Jazz flight arriving from Montreal when it collided with a fire truck on the runway on the night of March 22. The impact proved fatal for both pilots and left the aircraft's cockpit destroyed, marking a tragic scene for all involved.

Amid the wreckage, however, Tremblay's survival has drawn widespread attention.

Her daughter, Sarah Lepine, shared the extent of what happened in the moments during and after the crash, describing how her mother was ejected a considerable distance from the aircraft.

"During the crash she was... ejected over 320 feet from the wreckage. She was found still strapped in her jump seat lying on the tarmac," Lepine said.

Severe injuries and ongoing treatment

The aftermath has been physically devastating for Tremblay, who is now recovering in hospital while undergoing extensive medical care.

"My mother's injuries include two shattered legs (open fractures) requiring multiple surgeries where metal plates are needed to repair the damage done to her legs," Lepine continued.

The injuries extend beyond her legs, adding further uncertainty to her recovery.

"She sustained a fractured spine where she continues to wait and see if surgery is required. Furthermore, she requires skin graphs to repair the missing flesh she lost on her legs while sliding down the tarmac," Lepine went on.

Complications have already arisen during treatment, adding to the severity of her condition.

"She has even received a blood transfusion due to complications from her first surgery," Lepine said.

A remarkable survival amid tragedy

Despite the scale of the crash and the loss of life, Tremblay's survival stands out as remarkable. Being thrown more than 320 feet while still secured to her seat is an few could endure.

Now seen in a hospital bed for the first time since the incident, Tremblay faces a long and uncertain road to recovery.

While the tragedy claimed lives and left lasting damage, her story offers a rare moment of resilience in the aftermath of a devastating event.
