Berekum Chelsea winger Dominic Frimpong died in an armed robbery attack on his team's bus on Sunday when they were returning from a Ghana Premier League match at Samartex, the Ghana Football Association has said.

The attackers shot at the bus as it tried to reverse, hitting 20-year-old Frimpong in the head. He later died in hospital and is the only reported fatality from the incident.
"The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has received with deep shock and great sorrow the tragic news of the death of Berekum Chelsea Football Club's Dominic Frimpong," the statement read.
