With Ronda Rousey's matchup against Gina Carano already shaking up the MMA landscape under Jake Paul's MVP banner on Netflix, the combat sports world hardly needed another curveball. Yet that is exactly what it got when Chris Hemsworth casually admitted he has considered stepping into a real cage fight.

The blockbuster bout between Rousey and Carano, promoted by Paul's Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), has already blurred traditional lines between entertainment and elite competition.

Add in a Hollywood A-lister openly entertaining the idea of competing, and the spectacle factor escalates instantly.

Speaking on Complex's Family Style Fortune Cookies, Hemsworth revealed that his interest in combat sports goes beyond choreographed fight scenes.

"A part of me wants to, though, actually. I mean, I've trained a lot and sparred a lot over the years, but you know, within the realm of not killing each other," Hemsworth admitted.

"And I'd love to just, one day, go, 'Right, what have I gotten here?' And I'll probably end up flat on my back, starry eyes."

A possible route in for Liam Hemsworth

Few could be confused by his intentions. Fans on social media quickly floated the idea of Hemsworth fighting under Paul's MVP banner, particularly on the same card as Rousey and Carano.

One user suggested he face fellow Marvel star Chris Evans, while others proposed a headlining showdown between Paul and Hemsworth on Netflix. Another camp pushed for him to join a Misfits Boxing-style crossover event.

But not everyone embraced the fantasy. Some fans pointed out the physical realities of stepping into professional MMA in one's 40s.

Others bluntly noted that cinematic physique and legitimate cage readiness are vastly different currencies.

The situation underlines the increasingly hybrid nature of fight promotion, which has been disrupted by Paul in boxing and now 'The Problem Child' is now pushing into MMA.

Rousey's return outside of the UFC against Carano already signals a willingness to bypass traditional promotional hierarchies. Against that backdrop, the notion of Hemsworth entering a cage does not sound impossible.

Chris Hemsworth names dream opponent

When actress Halle Berry asked who he would fight, Hemsworth offered a strategic, tongue-in-cheek answer rather than naming an active contender.

"One of the ones that retired a long time ago, and I could just run away from them until they got tired, and then, bam," he said.

The humor masked an important acknowledgment: Hemsworth understands the gulf between training and sanctioned combat.

Still, his enthusiasm for MMA appears genuine. Asked about his favorite fighters, he immediately cited two legends of the sport.

"Georges St-Pierre, I love. Because he's one of the all-time greats but seems like a gentleman. An intelligent soul, as well. I like Alexander Volkanovski, Australian, good friend of mine."

By referencing Georges St-Pierre and Volkanovski, Hemsworth demonstrated familiarity with elite MMA talent and showed he is serious.

But will Thor ever actually trade movie sets for a cage door? Realistically, the odds remain slim. Yet in an era where Paul became a professional boxer, there is nothing to suggest an actor couldn't step into the octagon at some point.
