Everyone knows that Conor McGregor has a fight already scheduled against Michael Chandler, the problem is the time it has taken to happen. Originally it was schedule to go down on June 29 but because of a undisclosed injury, the native of Dublin will not have any activity in 2024 in UFC.

Now, according to sources, the fight is believed to happen sometime in the early part of 2025 but fans and other fighters are losing their patience. Because of all this situation, it seems that everyone has voiced their opinion on the matter, just like a UFC legend has.

Chael Sonnen believes that there is only one way that the fight could occur soon. While it is true that Chandler's last fight has 19 months ago, waiting on Conor might not be smart and that is why Sonnen suggests for him to look elsewhere to make McGregor step up soon.

The pressure could be on Conor McGregor

Of course that fighting Conor McGregor will create an incredible atmosphere months even before the first press conference to confirm the encounter and it will a lot of tickets, but it might not be the most smart thing to do considering Michael Chandler wants to fight now.

Chael Sonnen suggested that, because there is a lor of competition in the lightweight division, he would have no problem reaching an agreement with a high-profile fighter and that this is the correct way to approach his UFC career and this could backlash on McGregor.

If Chandler does in fact look elsewhere for an opportunity to come back and fight another opponent, Dan White could rescind the deal he has with Conor McGregor and all this pressure would make the Irishman to hurry up in his return process and not only fight Chandler eventually, but other stars as well.
