The UFC heavyweight bout between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Shamil Gaziev at UFC Vegas 87 ended anticlimacticly after Rozenstruik won via technical knockout after the referee stopped the fight when Gaziev could not see from one eye, ending a powerful night in Sin City.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik won after Gaziev could not continue the fight
As it turns out, Gaziev complained of not being able to see out of one of his eyes, which was reason enough for the main event bout of Saturday afternoon's show at the APEX Arena to be declared over by referee Marc Goddard via technical knockout in the fifth round.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik considerably punished the Bahraini during the whole fight to the point that at the end of the fourth round in which the latter could no longer defend himself, the corner realized the problem almost forcibly to the third in the octagon, and that was when he decided to stop the punishment.
The loss at the APEX Arena in Las Vegas was the first in Gaziev's professional career, while Rozenstruik signed his eighth victory since his arrival in the UFC and has five losses, the most recent against Jailton Almeida on May 13, 2023.
