Some did not expected this after the team fired their head coach, and now the Las Vegas Raiders have parted ways with general manager Tom Telesco after just one season. This decision comes shortly after the team announced the departure of Antonio Pierce, signaling a major shift in the organization's leadership.

Telesco, who joined the Raiders following an 11-year tenure as the general manager of the San Diego and Los Angeles Chargers, faced a challenging first year. The Raiders finished the 2024 season with a disappointing 4-13 record, struggling with quarterback instability and failing to secure a franchise-changing player.

Despite some promising draft picks, including Brock Bowers and Jackson Powers-Johnson, Telesco's efforts were not enough to turn the team's fortunes around. Initially, reports suggested that Telesco would remain with the organization despite Pierce's exit. However, it appears the Raiders' ownership, including minority owner Tom Brady, opted for a fresh start.

The decision to replace both the general manager and head coach aims to create a cohesive partnership from the beginning, rather than forcing an arrangement between new hires, as news on both of these vacancies are expected soon.

The Raiders are now in the midst of simultaneous searches for a new general manager and head coach. Among the candidates being considered are Detroit Lions coordinators Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson, as well as Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. The goal is to find a leadership duo that can work together effectively to rebuild the team and guide it back to competitiveness.

As the Raiders navigate this critical period, the upcoming decisions will be pivotal for the franchise's future. The organization hopes to find the right combination of vision and leadership to steer the team towards a successful 2025 season.
