Maxx Crosby is one of the most feared "headhunters" in the NFL. The Raiders' star defensive end inspires such fear in his opponents that Shilo Sanders almost called him to ask for some consideration for his brother, Shedeur, when Cleveland faced Las Vegas in Week 11.

Entering the NFL as the 106th overall pick in the 2019 draft, Crosby made an immediate impact on the Raiders. His instinct for creating cracks in defenses is virtually unmatched in the league.

Among Crossby's most notable "victims" are Super Bowl champions Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, and Russell Wilson, as well as MVP Lamar Jackson.

Last season, Crosby finished with:

  • 73 tackles
  • 45 solo tackles
  • 28 tackles for loss
  • 10 sacks

That's why, when he found out Shedeur would be facing Crosby, he almost called him to beg for mercy for his brother.

Shilo was terrified of Shedeur facing Maxx.

In a recent livestream from Paris, France, Shilo recalled how he felt in the days leading up to the Raiders-Browns game. He was especially relieved that Crosby didn't manage to get Shedeur.

"Bro, I'm so happy that you didn't get sacked that hard in that game," Shilo said on the livestream, via Reese Patanjo of The Sports Rush. Shedeur, in turn, admitted to feeling nervous during the game.

"Bro, I didn't know what it feels like to be lining up with Maxx Crosby on the other side,"Shedeur admitted.

"Think you're just chilling out on the pine for a long time, then you're going to get hit by Maxx Crosby? You're out there psyching yourself out."

Laughing, Shilo admitted, "I was scared. I was going to call him before the game and be like, 'Hey, big bro, just chill, okay, I know it's love.'"

The result that brought peace of mind to Shilo and Shedeur

In the end, that game turned out better than the Browns fans expected: their team beat the Raiders 24-10, and Shedeur was sacked only once, and not by Crosby.

The star defensive end for Las Vegas did manage to hit the young Sanders three times, but he never managed to catch him with the ball.

In the Sanders' book, that counts as a full-fledged victory.
