Vanderbilt has reasons to worry about Diego Pavia: their QB partying in Miami with Johnny Manziel and flirting with Tate McRae

After a major victory over Auburn, Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia decided it was the perfect time to celebrate in Miami. He boarded a flight to the warm weather to enjoy the nightlife alongside Theo Von and Johnny Manziel.

Things have changed for the 24-year-old quarterback, for the better, at least on the surface. Thanks to NIL deals, he now has money, giving him the freedom to indulge in life's pleasures. Moreover, he's of legal drinking age, so nothing stops him from enjoying alcohol and the party scene.

With these circumstances, money, fame, and a winning program where he's performing at a high level, everything seems to be going his way. However, history has shown that when priorities shift, goals tend to fade, and achieving them becomes far more complicated.

Pavia's outstanding performance against Auburn

Vanderbilt's last game was a nail-biter. Although the Commodores came out on top, Auburn proved to be a tough obstacle. The game had to be decided in overtime after a dramatic second half.

The Commodores were practically down for the count at halftime, trailing the Tigers by 10 points. But once the second half began, Vanderbilt mounted a comeback, putting up 28 points to force the contest into overtime.

During the extra period, Vanderbilt's defense stopped Auburn on its first offensive drive. Then the Commodores advanced methodically to the goal line, where Pavia threw a decisive touchdown pass to seal the victory.

Pavia's stats were spectacular: 25-of-33 for 377 yards and three touchdowns without an interception, plus 18 carries for 112 yards and a rushing score. He finished as the team's leading rusher that night, demonstrating both his versatility and leadership.

While it seems unlikely that he'll win the Heisman Trophy, Pavia was still invited to the ceremony in New York City, a significant recognition for his remarkable season.

Diego Pavia parties on Sunday night

Still basking in the glow of victory, Pavia flew to Miami on Sunday, November 9, to celebrate. He was joined by comedian Theo Von and former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel.

The young quarterback was in town for the birthday party of Jasmin Medar, the President of Global Business Development at Palm Tree Crew Holdings. The event attracted several public figures from the sports and entertainment worlds, adding to the party's allure.

After a full weekend of revelry, Pavia returned to Tennessee on a private flight Monday afternoon. Vanderbilt will have a bye this coming weekend, so technically, he didn't break any team rules, but the optics are not ideal for a player with rising fame and growing responsibility.
