Deion Sanders gives a powerful advice to his sons
Deion Sanders was the guest of the latest episode of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" where he talked about his iconic fashion style, his days as one of the best NFL players and what he remembered the most about the 1989 Draft.
"We weren't going to be broke no more, that was it. We weren't going to be broke no more and my mother would not have to work another day in ther life and life would never be the same, that's what I remember." Sanders replied.
He then went on to say that his main goal in the NFL was not the money. "I wanted to be the greatest, it wasn't about the money, it was about being the greatest and about being dominant because when you're the greatest and you're dominant and you perfect your craft, the money is gonna find you, you don't ever have to chase money when you perfect your craft."
Sanders was the fifth pick overall by the Atlanta Falcons, where he played with until 1993. He then went on to play for the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens. A 2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, he played in eight Pro Bowls, was named the 1994 AP Defensive Player of the Year and won two Super Bowls.
Shedeur Sanders's projected to be a top pick
Currently, Shedeur Sanders is ranked as the top quarterback available in the 2025 NFL Draft. He's described by ESPN ranking as a player who's accurate with the quick release to pick defenses apart with short-to-intermediate passes. "Sanders has handled the hype well and doesn't appear to be afraid of the big moment on the big stage." ESPN states.
The 2025 NFL Draft is stacked with some great players that could turn out to be a class of generational talent. Currently, the ESPN ranking projects that Penn State's defensive end Abdul Carter will be the No. 1 pick because of his explosiveness and his length to get into the frame of a blocker.
Coming out at No. 2 is Shedeur Sanders' teammate, dual threat Travis Hunter - Heisman Trophy winner -, who's viewed as a player that has the instincts and balls skills of a playmaker both on the offensive and the defensive side of the field.
