Former NFL player Jake Plummer has responded to a claim by ESPN host Pablo Torre that he was on shrooms during the Arizona Sun Devils latest games.
The Sun Devils had an excellent opening to 2025 as they caught the eye against the Texas Longhorns in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.
Whilst they ultimately lost the game in overtime, the 39-31 scoreline was a lot more respectable than many expected for the Sun Devils. Plummer is an ASU legend and he was on the screen a lot during the early stages of the contest.

The Longhorns blew a 16-point lead in the second half, and one of the key moments was a terrible interception by Quinn Ewers that gave Arizona State the momentum they needed to spark the comeback.
His activity on the sidelines caught the eye of Torre and he took to X to suggest what he thinks was going on with Plummer.
"I love that Jake Plummer is watching this game with an unknown quantity of shrooms coursing through his body," Torre wrote on January 1.
Plummer soon issued a response. "Caught me. I was on mushrooms," he wrote in response on Saturday. "870 mg of organic cordyceps."
It quickly went viral with more than two million people having viewed the post, as many wanted to know what organic cordyceps are.
They are actually non-psychedelic mushrooms which are designed to improve focus and cardiovascular health. Plummer is a very big advocate for them, saying how they have improved his stress levels and his sleep over the years.
