Survivor has built, over the years, a loyal fan base that tunes in to every new premiere, glued to their televisions to begin determining who their favorites will be and to watch how alliances start forming on the path to the final Tribal Council.

It is worth remembering that Survivor began many years ago. On May 31, 2000, this battle first aired, delivering unforgettable contenders each season and thrilling viewers who refuse to miss a single detail.

Now, with the launch of its 50th edition -a milestone season- the show did not disappoint. This past Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the premiere aired with an unprecedented number of participants.

A total of 24 survivors kicked off the program with great fanfare. There were introductions, laughter, and the first impressions of tribe mates as contestants quickly began assessing one another's strengths and weaknesses.

The first twist that raised the stakes in Survivor season 50

The Vatu tribe was the first to win the fire-making challenge. Subsequently, each team had to send a representative to compete for additional supplies, without knowing exactly what they would be facing.

Once the key was secured in a showdown between Q, Ozzy, and Coach, it was Coach who ultimately claimed it. Afterward came the time for each tribe to get to know one another better, and bonds were formed almost immediately.

The first person voted out of Survivor 50

It came as a major surprise when Jenna became the first contestant to leave Survivor 50. However, she was not the only one who ended up departing this special edition of the show.

Kyle had been struggling with intense ankle pain. Once the tribe returned to the Vatu camp, Dr. Joe Rowles conducted a thorough examination and realized the injury was more serious than a simple sprain.

Unfortunately, Kyle received devastating news. He had most likely ruptured his Achilles tendon. Despite his pleas to remain in the competition and the sadness that swept through his tribe mates, he ultimately had to be medically evacuated from the game.

As a reminder, viewers can watch each new episode of Survivor season 50 every Wednesday at 8:00 pm ET on CBS.
