One of motorsport's most coveted cars, formally owned by Pablo Escobar, has been bought by Atlantis Motor group for 2.2 million dollars.

The 1974 Porsche 911 RSR IROC was first built to race in the International Race of Champions at the Indianapolis 500 in the United States.

After initially being bought by current Indycar boss Roger Penske, the car came into the hands of former Formula 1 world champion, Emerson Fittipaldi.

In its long list of owners also appears Pablo Escobar, who found use for it in Colombia. The drug lord was a big fan of cars and a racer himself.

In the end, Escobar would trade in the Porsche 911 for a 935 in Martini colours.
