Rob McElhenney tweeted at recently retired Gareth Bale, who's Welsh, to come play for the Cinderella story team from his native country in their return to the League Two.

The celebrity invited Bale to play golf, saying that he won't spend all round trying to get him to sign with the team and unretire from football.

"Hey @GarethBale11 let's play golf, where I totally won't spend 4 hours trying to convince you to un-retire for one last magical season," McElhenney expressed on the social media platform.

This caption was tweeted alongside a video of Bale congratulating the actor and the Wrexham team on being promoted to England's fourth division.

Gareth Bale was present at The Masters in Augusta National just a couple of weeks ago and had the opportunity to see Jon Rahm lift the trophy and get his first green jacket.
