At 46 years old, most of everyone thought Manny Pacquiao was insane for even considering a return to boxing. The legendary boxer teased it with a couple of exhibition bouts over the years, but not many believed he was actually completely serious. Then the news was confirmed that he would not only fight professionally again, he would do it in a world title fight.

Mario Barrios is the one chosen to lose to a 46-year-old or beat him, in somewhat of a lose-lose situation. Regardless, Barrios must fight who's in front of him in order to defend his belt, and that's Pacquiao. Most expect Barrios to wipe the floor with PacMan, but that isn't the sentiment for everyone. Although Pacquiao is still a big underdog, the betting odds have begun to shrink a bit.

Within the last two months, Pacquiao's odds have shifted from 47/10 to 27/10, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Barrios is still highly favored, but it isn't as clear-cut as before..

It's somewhat shocking that Pacquiao is closing the gap on the much-younger world champion, but the 46-year-old has looked in incredible shape as the bout nears. Whether that translates to the ring is another story.

Pacquiao has long been a fan favorite, mainly due to his personality and attitude in and out of the ring. He will need more than that to beat Barrios, but the fans are rallying behind him, and so is the betting public now.
